I studied computer science — a world of logic and precision — but I’ve always been drawn to something softer: jewelry.

After a year of personal low points and the struggle of job searching, I found myself stuck between ambition and invisibility. Every opportunity seemed to ask me to be a specific kind of person — the right “fit,” the perfect “screw.” I was never quite the right size.

Then, something shifted. One day while prepping for an interview, I reached out to someone for advice. That conversation led me, unexpectedly, to a podcast — where a woman shared her story of creating a camera brand as a side project. She spoke with so much passion, and for the first time in a long time, I felt something click.

I started learning how to build a brand. And to my surprise, it lit something up in me.

Every time I worked on my store, I felt peaceful. Focused. Fulfilled. The fear and self-doubt quieted.

I’ve always loved jewelry — not just for how it looks, but for how it holds memory. How it helps me express who I am, even when words fail. Starting UNA became a way to speak, to heal, and to believe in something again.

UNA is named after the Latin word for “only” or “one.” It reminds me — and maybe you too — that we don’t need to fit a mold. We only need to be ourselves.
